Hope Everyone had and awesome Holiday and New Year!
Fishing in Islamorada has been great these past few weeks. The Everglades have been amazing. We’ve been catching large numbers of trout, redfish and snook daily in the park. The park has been fishing the best we’ve seen in years. The seagrass is making a comeback and all the conservation efforts are starting to pay off, which means better fishing!
As is the time of year, we have had some windy days, luckily with the park in such close proximity we are able to get out of the wind, seems like the fish have been doing the same. The park is healthy and fishing well.
Fly fishing the flats in the park has been producing great numbers of snook with a large snook or two being hooked daily. Redfishing has been on point too. We’re seeing large numbers of both fish in the 18-26” range with fish over 10lbs being hooked daily.
I have opening for the end of January as well as February. Whether you want to fly fish or spin fish, don’t pass up some of the best inshore fishing we’ve seen in years!
